The Zulu artist uses the natural different colors of the banana leaf to create the different color elements. Leaving the banana leaf to dry, the pigment of the leaf changes and at certain stages the artist then curs the leaf so that it will then remain at that color, giving the artist the different colors needed to create this wonderful Banana leaf art picture.

This picture is of an African Elephant standing in a charging position with trunk in the air. Behind the Banana leaf art Elephant is African vegetation with trees and grass. The effect of the banana leaf is so well achieved that you get the feeling that the Elephant is standing around during an African sunset.
