African djun djun drum

Size: 50cm x 35cm(H x D) - Drum above

Hand made with African cow hide and wood , these Djun Djun drums ring out a wide range of notes from a low bass, a mid-range tenor and a high note soprano. Use one drum or the full set to create your poly-rhythmic harmony. The African Djun Djun drums are handcrafted out of wood with a cow skin head and held down with strong leather string. These drums have become sort after musical instruments for African lovers.African Djun Djun drums

These drums are hand crafted in Ghana and are of a high quality. Also known as dundun or dun dun, they accompany the Djembe in a symbiotic relationship. Typically sold in 3 sizes, the largest drum is called the doundoumba, the medium is the sangban, and baby of the family is the kenkeni.

Each Djun Djun drum is an "original" work of art, individually hand carved, no two are exactly alike which adds to the value of each piece. The original nature of tribal art will be reflected by variances from the drum as shown, each piece of a specific style is similar, but not identical.
