The Shona people of Zimbabwe have been hand sculpting stone and wood into works of art for nearly a thousand years. Even though the craft is ancient, the style has continually evolved and the carvings created today are both beautiful and elegant.
These pieces are all one of a kind, carved using different types of stone such as Serpentine, Verdite, Springstone, African Butter Jade, Wood and Rapoko, an African term for soapstone used 4 indigenous carvers throughout the world.
