African Stone Carved Tableware
Below we have a selection of African handcrafted stone items that are found inside the home used on tables for decorative or daily use. These hand carved stone items are all carved our of natural stone, smooth polished and then painted with images of African animals or tribal designs. The stone used in most of these carving is soapstone which is found in most Southern African countries of Africa.
Soapstone is used as one of the more common stone as it is easy to carve with and the natural colours of soapstone can vary which can add to the uniqueness of each carved item.
It is important to be aware that because of the nature of natural stone and the individual craftsmanship of each piece which is hand carved and therefore no two pieces are identical, the stone carving will look similar to the picture in size and look with slight variances that is natural and unique to hand carved items.
