African Stone Carved Animals

The most common stone used in Africa is soapstone and this is because of the ease at which it is to shape this stone, also soapstone comes in a variety of tones with flecks and veins of colour throughout the stone which can make it a really attractive stone once polished.

Although not all African countries are known for the stone carvings, places like Zimbabwe and Kenya product some of the finest stone carving that can be found today and all carved using hand tools.
