Hand Carved animal Mask from Kenya

Size: from 18cm (H) - More Kenya masks below description

This hand-carved wooden giraffe mask from Kenya is sculpted in the distinctive elongated form of a giraffe's head and neck. The mask is individually carved from wood and hand painted with patterned markings inspired by the giraffe's natural coat.

The elongated face, raised ears, long muzzle and contrasting painted markings give the mask a recognisable giraffe form while retaining the stylised character of African wood carving.

This Kenyan giraffe mask makes a distinctive piece of African wall art, wildlife-inspired décor or African art for collectors. Because each mask is individually carved and painted, variations in carving, colour, pattern and surface finish can occur from one piece to another.
